Charles Eugene Cathcart

December 14, 1937 – February 27, 2019

Charles Eugene Cathcart, age 81 of Noblesville, passed away on February 27, 2019. He was born on December 14, 1937 to the late Everett and Estella (Archer) Cathcart in Indianapolis, Indiana. Charles graduated from Harry E. Wood High School in Indianapolis Class of 1956. Charles enjoyed hard work and that lead him to a career in construction as an operating engineer .  He was a crane operator and a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 103.

On January 23, 1959 Charles married the love of his life , Yvonne (Barrick) Cathcart and the two of them have been at each other sides for 60 years. When Charles retired, it didn't take him long to find a second career .  He started a mowing and snow removal business and ha d done that for several years. When he wasn't mowing or moving snow, he loved to mushroom hunt, hang out with his neighbor and spend time with his family , especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He also loved spending time with his cats but especially his dog Lexi. Charles never met a stranger. Aft er meeting Charles, he would make you feel like you've known each other for years .  H e loved kids and many of the kids knew him simply as papa. He was a member of Legacy Bible Church in Noblesville. Charles and Yvonne instilled so many valuable lessons to their two daughters and family whom will greatly miss him. His loving wife of 60 years Yvonne, their two daughter s, Denise (Aaron) Olvey of Sheridan and Lisa Cathcart of Carmel. Charles was a proud grandfather to Mindi (Eric) Hardcorn of Edgewood, KY., Kaeli (William) Kimrey of Noblesville, Corey Standifer (Brooke Rice) of Indianapolis and Jacob Olvey of Westfield. Charles was also a great grandfather to Cheyenne Haley and Elijah Hardcorn of Edgewood, KY. He was a devoted brother to Bert (Barbara) Cathcart of Carmel, Richard (Brenda) Cathcart of Greenfield and Harry (Lois) Cathcart of Florida. Charles was an uncle to several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his siblings Everett Jr., Thomas, Joseph, James, Jeanette and Steven.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at Legacy Bible Church located at 2140 Greenfield Ave nue in Noblesville , Indiana. Calling will be held on Friday March 1, 2019 from 4-8 pm at Legacy Bible Church. Dr. Keith Kunda will be officiating. Burial will follow at Carmel Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Legacy Bible Church at 2140 Greenfield Avenue, Noblesville, Indiana 4606 0 All are invited to share thoughts with the family at fisherfunerals.com.
