IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles "Chuck"
Gerald Lunsford
April 15, 1948 – November 8, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles "Chuck" Gerald Lunsford, who departed this life on November 8, 2025, in Crown Point, Indiana, formerly of Fayetteville, Tennessee, and Midlothian, Illinois. Born on April 15, 1948, in Fayetteville, Tennessee. Chuck lived a life full of love, family, and an unwavering commitment to those around him. He was 77 years old.
Chuck was the cherished son of William and Lucille (Porter) Lunsford, who instilled in him the values of hard work and kindness. He was a proud graduate of Calumet High School, Class of 1966, and spent many years as the Owner Operator of P.D.P. Construction, earning the respect and admiration of clients and coworkers alike.
Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen "Kathy" (Coffey) Lunsford, who left this world in 2004, as well as their son Scott Matthew Lunsford, who passed away in 2024. He also mourned the loss of his parents and his brothers Raymond Leon, Larry, and Randall Lunsford. Despite these profound losses, Chuck remained a pillar of strength and resilience for his family.
He is survived by three devoted sons: Gerald Michael (Dianna), Robert Eugene (Kathy), Michael Anthony (Coleen), and his daughter-in-law Ann Lunsford. His legacy continues through his grandchildren—Tara, Corinna, Samatha, Sara, Hannah, Cole, Bradley (Cassidy), Logan (Marin), Cody, Kinsey, and Noah Lunsford—who brought joy and pride to his life. Additionally, he embraced the role of great-grandfather to Eloise and Porter Lunsford, as well as Hunter and Hudson Scott, creating a profound intergenerational bond that enriched his life.
Chuck was a man of faith, known for his vibrant spirit, love for the outdoors, and passion for golfing and fishing. He cherished his cottage on a lake in Allegan, Michigan, affectionately named "Chuck and Kathy Love Shack," where family and friends gathered to create lasting memories. For Chuck, nothing was more important than the time spent with his sons and grandchildren; he looked forward to every moment shared, whether it was fishing, playing golf, or simply enjoying each other's company.
A hard worker and a proud family man, with a sense of humor, along with sarcastic humor that was passed on and shared with his sons. Chuck never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone. His ability to connect with others and his genuine kindness left a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who knew him.
The Lunsford family is planning a memorial gathering at a later date, and they wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Chuck will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his unwavering love and support for his family, and for his spirit that touched so many lives.
