Doris Jean (Curry) Parish 81, of Sheridan passed away on Saturday June 1, in Indianapolis.
She was born on November 22, 1942, to the late Chester and Esther (Bloebaum) Curry in Sullivan, Indiana. Doris graduated from Dugger High School, Class of 1960. Doris knew the value of an education and in 1970 she decided to attend Indiana Business College in Vincennes, after completing business college; she was working at St. Mary's Hospital and after several years of working with the patients and their families she decided to obtain her License Practical Nursing license.
Doris loved to garden, and she took a lot of pride growing various flowers and vegetables especially concentrating on her roses, her family and friends would come over just to see her garden of flowers. The last few years Doris lived at Spicewood Garden Apartments where she had had a beautiful flower garden and they asked Doris if they could use her flower garden on the front of their brochure.
When she wasn't tending to her garden Doris looked forward to her shopping trips and taking care of her cats.
Doris will be greatly missed by her family her daughter Angie (Jason) Walters, her grandson Daniel Ryan Walters and her two great grandchildren Emma, and Nicole. She also leaves behind her three siblings Betty (Ed) Doll, Wayne "Butch" Curry, and Ed Curry along with her four cats Blackie, Tommy, Zany, and Sandy.
