Irene Stoops, age 82 of Sheridan passed away on November 28, 2010 in Sheridan. She was born on September 6, 1928 to the late Elisha and Lottie Marie (Pierce) Stowers in Hamilton County, Indiana. Her husband Gerald Stoop preceded Irene in death in 2004. Irene Loved sewing and crafts, she also liked to entertain friends and family. She was a great cook. Irene will be greatly missed by her family her devoted children Sibby and husband Bob Barnes, Connie Stern and Chuck and wife Judy Stoops. Her loving grandchildren Penny Barnes and Dave Sandman, Jeff and wife Angie Barnes, Christy and husband Devon Johnson, Josh Stoops, Travis and wife Missy Stern, Matthew Stern and Matthew Davis. Her great grandchildren Nick Dowd, Samuel and Cameron Johnson, Cora and Kaitlyn Stoop, Hanna and Jonathan Barnes, Taylor Stern and Paige and Jada Neff. A sister Joyce and husband Larry Simmon survives her. Two sisters Alice Mae King, and Anna Belle Zorninger preceded her in death. A funeral services will be held on Thursday December 2, 2010 at 11:00 am at Sheridan First Christian Church with The Rev. V.J. Stovers officiating. Burial will follow at Crownview Cemetery. Calling will be held on Wednesday December 1, 2010 from 4-8 pm at Sheridan First Christian Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Susan G.
