Jack Edward Miller, 81, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 30, 1934 to the late Paul H. and Pearl I (Swope) Miller in Eaton, Ohio. Jack graduated from Eaton High School with the class of 1952. After graduating high school Jack started farming with his grandfather. Jack then began to work for The Kroger Company, eventually transferring to Kroger's Distribution Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jack met his wife Nancy of 38 years while employed at Kroger. They were married on May 29, 1977 at the Sheridan First Christian Church. Jack was very proud to be involved in his community. He served justly on many community boards and was the past-president of the Sheridan Redevelopment Board. He was a member of the Sheridan Fidelity Lodge 309 where he was honored to serve as past-master four times. Jack was also a member of the Indianapolis Scottish Rite. He loved many sports; however, his favorites were golf, fishing and football. Jack was privileged to have two loving families whom will miss him dearly. He had six children from his first marriage, Onda (Marty) Moran, Christopher (Diane) Miller, Gail (Russ) Locker, Sherie (Kevin) Miller, Jane (Jeff) Day, and Randy (Toni) Miller. He is survived by his wife, Nancy and her children, Mary Jennifer Tolley-Wallace, Mark A. (Laura), Matthew J. (Debby) and Timothy (Karen) Tolley. Jack was also a very proud grandfather and great-grandfather to several. Jack's grandson Brett Tolley preceded him in death in 2008. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Sheridan Six Points Wesleyan Church, 1545 W. 226th Street in Sheridan, Indiana. Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am till time of service. Pastor Steve Martin will be officiating. Burial will follow at Crownview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Peyton Manning Children Hospital, 2001 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260 or the Hamilton County Humane Society, 1721 Pleasant St #8, Noblesville, Indiana, 46060.
