Obituary

Jeannie Gifford, of Sheridan, Indiana, passed away on November 6, 2026, in Noblesville. She was born on February 21, 1957, in New Castle, Indiana.

Jeannie was a graduate of New Castle High School, Class of 1975, and went on to attend IUPUI, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She devoted her professional life to caring for others through her work in nursing and healthcare, serving at Methodist Hospital, Indiana University Hospital, Riverview Hospital, Eye Specialists of Indiana, MHS, and Harbour Manor Health Campus. Her work reflected the qualities that so many valued in her: she was loving, caring, tenacious, and blessed with a good sense of humor.

Outside of her career, Jeannie found joy in the things she loved most. She had a special fondness for lighthouses and enjoyed collecting owls. She also collected Thomas Kinkade paintings, especially those featuring lighthouses, and took pleasure in jewelry and gemstones. These interests reflected her appreciation for beauty, comfort, and the meaningful details that brighten life.

Jeannie will be remembered with love by her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Eric Gifford of Sheridan, and Eric’s wife, Amanda. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis Pickrell. The love of family remained an important part of her life, and her memory will be carried forward by those who knew her best.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Gifford, with whom she shared 14 years of marriage; by her father, Raymond; by her mother, Virginia Pickell; and by her sister, Peggy Belt.

A graveside service will be held on November 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Crown View Cemetery, 4056 West State Road 38, Sheridan, Indiana 46069.

Jeannie’s life was marked by compassion, strength, and warmth. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
