John Stern age 69 of Lafayette; passed away on August 25, 2016 in Lafayette. He was born on October 11, 1946 to the late Byron and Marian (Gaslin) Stern in Darlington, Indiana. John was graduate of Lebanon High School class of 1964. He worked in sales selling farm equipment where he built many lasting relationships with farmers in his territory. John was a member of Fidelity Lodge 309 in Sheridan, Indiana he was a former member of the shrine and the Sons of the American Legion in Sheridan. John enjoyed fishing and telling tales of his fishing trips. John leaves behind two sons Travis and Matthew Stern, a granddaughter Taylor and a brother Thomas B. (Tonya) Stern.  Preceding John in death are his two infant sisters. Funeral services will be held on Friday September 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Fisher Family Funeral Services located at 508 E. 6 ^th St. Sheridan; where family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am till time of services. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to John Stern Memorial Fund at The Farmers Bank. Online condolences may be made to fisherfunerals.com.
