Judy Ann Williams, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on September 8, 1951, in Vincennes, Indiana, Judy was a spirited individual who brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Judy's educational journey began at Staunton High School, where she graduated as part of the Class of 1969. She furthered her education at Indiana State University, earning a bachelor's degree in health and safety management. Throughout her life, Judy exemplified a strong will and a caring spirit, never hesitating to lend a helping hand or share her signature humor, which endeared her to many.
A person of many interests, Judy was passionate about animals and found joy in expressing her creativity through painting. She transformed old pieces of wood and sawblades into stunning works of art, often depicting charming farm scenery that reflected her love for the outdoors. Additionally, Judy cherished Native American art and had a particular fondness for her favorite diet coke, a simple indulgence that brought her happiness.
Judy leaves behind her cherished family, including her sons, Michael (Chelsea) Wharton and David Wharton, and her daughter, Christina (Chad) Jett. She was a proud grandmother to Blake Wharton, Dylan Spivey, Braeden Wharton, Tyler Spivey, Jaxon Wharton, and Charlie Rose Wharton, and a great-grandmother to Finan G. Wharton. Judy's connection to her family was profound, and her legacy of love and laughter will live on in their hearts.
She also shared a lifelong friendship with Brenda Bailey, who was an important figure in her life and will carry forward the memories they built together.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, Howard T. and Imogene (Anderson) Williams, along with her brother, Clearance E. Williams, and her sister, Joetta Wiseman. Their memories will remain a cherished part of her story, and Judy will be remembered as a loving and caring individual who never met a stranger.
Her vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
