June Ellen Evans passed away peacefully on July 14 ^th , 2014, at the home of her daughter Rebecca Evans, in Indiana.

She was born August 30 ^th , 1937, in Ashland, Kentucky, the first of 4 children. She was All State in Biology as a high school student, in Enon, Ohio, where she grew up. She received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science fromOhio University, where she worked and taught. She consulted corporations, and was once mentioned in a Time magazine article as the first person to digitize a major university's library card catalog. She was also the former President of the Ohio Head Injury Association. She resided in Cincinnati, Ohio for many years.

She was a loving mother of 4 children. Her surviving family members include her brother Mike Cottingham, sister Mary Jane Lehman, children James Evans, Kathy Fleenor, Scott Evans and Rebecca Evans, grandchildren Aimee, Holly, James, Joseph, Nathan and Morgan, and great-grandchildren Nathaniel, Samuel, William, Benjamin, Georgia, and Tristan.

She lived her final years with her beloved dog Sophie, and cat Mister, in Medway, Ohio.

She spent her final days under the loving care of her daughter Rebecca Evans, and her son James, in Tipton, Indiana. With help of local Hospice, she had a dignified and painless passing. She donated her body to Ohio University's medical school.

She motivated all of us to read, and acquire knowledge. She was an example to us with her determination and strength of will. Her love of music and art were major influences in her children's lives.

We know that we will never truly be without her. She will continue to watch over us, and guide us. Our love for her, and appreciation for her influences, will continue for all of our lives.

A memorial gathering, celebrating June's life, will be held at a later date in Athens, Ohio.
