Kenneth G. Cline, 85, of Sheridan passed, away on August 23, 2016. He is now joined with his loving wife, Barbara (King) Cline. She preceded him in death on July 6, 2008. Kenny was born on February 24, 1931 to the late Odie and Zelda (Griffith) Cline in Sheridan, Indiana.
Kenny was a graduate of the Sheridan High School Class of 1949. The year of his high school graduation, he was a kicker on the undefeated Sheridan Blackhawks football team. Kenny was employed at Chrysler as a fork truck driver where he retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of the UAW Local 685 in Kokomo, Indiana. Kenny was the Past Master of the Pickard Masonic Lodge as well as a past President of the Athletics Boosters for Clinton Central Schools. He has had many other accomplishments throughout his life in which he was very knowledgeable. Kenny was a barrel rider and a calf roper with his quarter horses he also enjoyed training horses and bird dogs. He spent a lot of time with his rabbitry and served as a 4-H rabbit judge for many years. Not only did he raise and judge rabbits, but he found pleasure in teaching his grandchildren and nieces and nephews the proper way to raise rabbits for 4-H. Kenny was a connoisseur of food. He loved to barbecue, especially on the cookers he made himself. You would often find him cooking at football games for the Clinton Central Boosters. His barbequing would allow him to travel to Franklin, Indiana and cook at the Masonic Home. His love for barbequing led him to acquire a job with Shoups Country Foods and Catering where he traveled for them and catered different family events. Kenny looked forward to his drives to Michigan every fall to get apples. He was an avid outdoorsman where he loved to hunt and fish with his family and friends. He made two trips to Alaska; Kodiak and Iliamna. Kenny had never met a stranger and enjoyed telling stories. He was known in Pickard, Indiana as the Mayor. Out of everything Kenny was involved and accomplished with, he was the proudest of being named Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the Division of Law Enforcement Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
Kenny's greatest joy and accomplishment was his family whom will miss him greatly. Kenny is survived by his four children; Susan (Bob Zaltsberg) Williams, Greg (Chris) Cline, Terry (Kevin) Kingery and Andy (Franny) Cline. He was a grandfather to seven devoted grandchildren; Amelia Williams, Brent and Kaley Cline, Melanie White, Ken Kingery, Ana Kincart and John Catalona and a proud great grandfather to six. Kenny also leaves behind two loving siblings; Phillip Cline and Marilyn (Gene) Leonard and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Kenny in death is his brother, Keith and his sister in law, Deloris.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from
2:00 -9:00 pm at Sheridan Six Points Wesleyan Church, 1545 W. 226 th St., Sheridan, Indiana 46069. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Sheridan Six Points Wesleyan Church with Pastor Harold Wilson officiating. Burial will follow the service at East Union Cemetery where a Masonic Service will be held.
