Paul Edward Bedell, a longtime Sheridan, Indiana resident, passed away suddenly at home on October 18, 2026. He was 69 years old.
Born on July 2, 1957, in Texas, Paul built a life marked by hard work, generosity, and a spirit that brought comfort and laughter to those around him. For more than 30 years, he worked as a machinist at Biddle’s (EMC) in Sheridan, Indiana a career that reflected his steady hands, practical skill, and dedication.
Paul was happiest in the simple, familiar rhythms of life. He enjoyed riding his Harley on country roads, finding freedom and peace in the miles ahead. He also loved working on lawn mowers, vehicles, and whatever else needed fixing, always ready to put his hands to work and help solve a problem. In his later years, he could often be found sitting in his garage watching TV, enjoying the comfort of home and the everyday moments that made life his own.
Those who knew Paul will remember a man with an unmatchable sense of humor and a heart that was always open to others. He was known as a helping hand to whoever needed it, the kind of person who would gladly give the shirt off his back. He was also remembered as someone who never seemed to have a bad day, carrying himself with a lightness and warmth that left a lasting impression.
Paul is survived by his wife, Pam Bedell, with whom he shared 16 years of marriage, and by his Son, Paul Bedell. Paul is also survived by 2 step-children, several grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, and his furry companion Oliver. He was preceded in death by his step-daughter.
He will be deeply missed by those who loved him and by all who had the good fortune to know his kindness, humor, and generous nature. His memory will live on in the country roads he loved, in the work of hands always willing to help, and in the laughter he so easily shared.
