Robert L. Rawlings 79, of Sheridan; passed away surrounded by his

loving family on April 22, 2015. He was born on March 11, 1936 to the

late Vern Lee and Esther (Howard) Rawlings in Hamilton County. He

especially loved his family whom will greatly miss him. His wife and best

friend of 61 years, Loretta (Boone) Rawlings, were married on June 6,

1953 in Sheridan. They have four surviving children; Linda (Michael)

Schneider, Randy (Susan) Rawlings, Kevin (Mary) Rawlings and Kimberly

(Bryan) Teany. Their eldest son, Gary Lee, preceded him in death in

1999. He was a proud grandfather of eight; Courtney (Josh) Ballard,

Leandra and Nicholas Schneider, Jeff (Brittany) Rawlings, Jennifer (Joe)

Godar, Whitney, Megan, Christopher, Amara and Jonathan. He was also

proud to welcome his first great-grandchild, Cole Rawlings. Robert is

also survived by his brother- in- law, Don (Betty) Cox and several nieces

and nephews. Proceeding Robert in death are his two sisters; Betty Cox

and Wilma Jean (Frank) Nay.

Robert was an active member of the Terhune Methodist Church and

Sheridan American Legion Post 67.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Monday April 27, 2015 at

5:00 pm at Terhune United Methodist Church located at 8392 North

Washington St. Sheridan, where friends and family are invited to gather

from 3:00 pm till time of services. The Rev. Frank Ciampa will be

officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Terhune

Methodist Church or American Brain Foundation Peripheral
