Stephan A. Rice, age 74, of Sheridan, Indiana passed away on June 16, 2012 in Sheridan. He was born on January 30, 1938 to the late William Arthur and Viola (Showalter) Rice in Boone County, Indiana. Stephan was a graduate of Sheridan High School class of 1956. He worked as a semi-truck driver, retiring in 1999. Steve loved playing pinball machines and going to the casino. But most importantly, he loved his family and friends, whom said Steve never, met a stranger. He is survived by his children Stephan "Sonny" (Renee) Rice, Penny (Tim) Dyer, Tammy (Lori) Rice, Anitra (Gabe) Laird, and Mike (Irene) Brazeal and his step-children, Brett Medsker, Quinn (Rhonda) Medsker and Janae O''Connell. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, his sibling''s Karen Jones and David Jones and daughter-in-law Becky Rice. Preceding Steve in death were a son, Chris, in 2007, his wife, Sandy, in 2006, two brothers, William Earl, and George and a sister, Judy. Services will held on June 21, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Sheridan First Baptist Church, where friends and family are invited to gather for calling from 11:00 am until time of services located at 205 E. 3rd St. Sheridan.
