Thelma Jean "Cline" Burroughs age 93, of Westfield; passed away on February 7, 2015. She was born on January 8, 1922 to the late Eddie and Ruth "Henderson" Cline in Boxley, Indiana. Thelma was a graduate of Sheridan High School class of 1940. Throughout her career she had various jobs; she worked as a Secretary at the Indiana Veterans Home, Hamilton County Superintendent of schools office, Hamilton County Treasurers office, she was the owner for a short time of the Legion restaurant in Westfield. Thelma work has a waitress at Warren Restaurant in Westfield and she also worked in the first cafeteria at Westfield School. Thelma was a fifty plus year member of the Eastern Star in Westfield, American legion Auxiliary Post 11 in West Lafayette, a member of D.A.R. "Daughters of the American Revolution" Horseshoe Prairie Chapter in Noblesville, something near and dear to her heart was her involvement in the Westfield Washington Historical Society where she received volunteer of year honors in 2007. Thelma will be greatly missed by her two sisters Marianna Hadley of Brownsburg and Erma Barker of Westfield, a brother in law James R. "Bob" Fox of Sheridan and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Thelma in death is her husband James E. "Tug" Burroughs in 1997, siblings Ivan "Bub" Cline, Avalon Hiatt, Ina Fox, and Carolyn Long. Also preceding her in death is a sister in law Jean Cline, brother in laws Ed Long, Charles Hadley, Fred Hiatt and Doyle Barker. A celebration of Thelma Life will be held on February 28, 2015 at 3:00 pm where friends and family may gather from 1:30pm till time of services at Westfield Friends Church located at 324 South Union St. Pastor Steve Pedigo will be officiating.
