Walter Martin Castor, 70, of Sheridan passed away on May 28, 2017. He was born on March 31, 1947 in Marion County, Indiana to his late father, Norman Leo Castor, and his loving mother, Mildred Emma (Hartman) Castor, who survives him.
Walt was a graduate of Hamilton Heights High School, class of 1966. He was a truck driver until he retired. Walt worked for the Biddle Foundation for several years serving as the Biddle Park superintendent in Sheridan, IN. Walt took great pride in beautifying the park and making sure it was ready for the youth baseball and softball seasons, the Sheridan, IN Fourth of July festivities and other activities. Walt never knew a stranger and had many friends. Walt was a member of Sheridan Fidelity Lodge 309. Walt always look forward to playing golf. When Walt wasn't playing golf, he was watching NASCAR or college and professional basketball. He loved eating bologna sandwiches and drinking sweet tea, which he always a glass with him wherever he went.
Walt greatest joy were his children, grandchildren, family who will greatly miss him. Survivors include his children, Melissa (Dave) Walden of Brandon, FL., Jason (Lyndsay) Castor of Brandon, FL; several grandchildren, David, Destiny, Kielah, Olivia, Madison and Emma; brother, Tom (Linda) Castor of Ft. Myers, FL., and sisters, Darlene Bentley of Westfield, IN and Arlene (Tim) Nethery of Noblesville, IN. Walt will also be greatly missed by many of his friends especially Tom and Tonya Stern.
